Amazing Phuket

Hello everyone! I would like first to apologize for the lack of post, as I promised I was going to even write about my first leave back at home but unfortunately some situations came by and I was unable to write often as I was doing. I promise to keep you update of what’s going to happen now in my new journey, yes, I might leave my wonderful ‘Emirates’ experience soon. Some details will be posted very shortly, for now let’s enjoy my Phuket gallery!

PHUKET_______________

My very last layover in which I bid for it and got it twice, was Phuket. I was indeed very excited to work this flight, although I was pretty down and sad. Phuket flight was right after my first leave, therefore I was (or I think I was) a little depressed of leaving home, again. I thought of resigning, I started to search for a new job, I was constantly crying over night. I asked a friend who’s been working for Emirates some years as Cabin Crew Supervisor “When this feeling will go away?” he replied- “It would never go away..” I decided to put a side the ‘feelings’ and just work and enjoy my job on these following layovers. Phuket helped me Continue reading “Amazing Phuket”

Emirates Graduation

Before posting my next adventures, I would like to announce that I’m officially an Emirates girl.

Yesterday was a long day starting from 8:30 am. First they take photos of each batch then they divide us in groups (of each batch) in which a leader from induction specialist group will have a chat with us. They ask us questions of how is flying, any situation on board and how we deal with it, what do we think of our leaders and how we keep motivated every single day. Each of us shared our opinions and experiences. Second, they weight us (I didn’t gain weight by the way 🙂 )and they do an “Image and Uniform check” which they verify our image and grooming, nails, hair, uniform ironed etc.  In addition, our Cabin Crew managers came and did a chat and congratulated us as well.

photo 5Finally, at 2:30pm the Graduation Ceremony commence. My family wanted to come but since is Ramadan, everything is closed, no alcohol plus is too hot. It would be the first time for them in Dubai and if they come from Puerto Rico, they’ll stay at least for about 1 week and so, it’s not fair for them. I really want to enjoy Dubai with them, this time is not the right time for vacationing in Dubai. Therefore, I told them very sad to not come. My boyfriend was fulled of work and university and couldn’t come either.

All the guests arrived and I was waiting for the lobby for us to enter the auditorium. Suddenly glimpse at the entrace of the lobby, and on my friends was there standing. I was so happy! I jumped and gave him a big hug! Since he knew nobody from my family came, he wanted to support me and gave me a surprise! It was really nice from him because at one point I was feeling sad. I saw everyone with they parents and boyfriends..I was..just there. I wish my parents would had been there with me or my boyfriend. This friend of mine took me photos and videos which I happily send them to my family and they were so happy because they thought they wouldn’t see pictures nor photos since I was alone.

At the ceremony they called us by our names and in a big screen it showed our flags and names as well. We shake hands with our manager and take our certificates, which is folded as a Diploma from university, very cute. After the ceremony they had for us cakes, sandwiches, tea, coffee and a selection of juices. I really liked the ceremony, it felt like I was graduating from College again, very organized and pretty. This is the second time I graduated from a Aviation college and I  must say, this one felt very special. After 2 months of training and 6 months overall of probation I finally Graduated and now I’m officially an Emirates Cabin Crew. I’m so proud of myself of getting this far and for working in such an world class airline.

The sky is the limit, but for some…the sky is our home!

The Bangkok-Sydney-Christchurch

This past month I was on reserve and I finished it with a lovely multisector, Bangkok-Sydney-Christchurch. The truth is that I had 4 days off and they gave me first a turn-around. I was really disappointed because they gave me a lot of days off for..a turn? So, I went to bed (at 3am standby) until next morning which was my next flight (the turn).  At 5am I received I call from crew scheduling confirming my flight. I was sleeping and I knew my flight was no sooner than 10am. Suddenly she tells me; “..no. You have Bangkok-Sydney. We’ve changed your schedule.” The main thing I like this multisector is that I get to stay in Sydney 2 days and a half. I think you all know that’s one of my favorite cities is Sydney 🙂 . This is also my second time doing this multisector in less than 4 months. (See Bangkok first Operational).

I had only one hour to pack, shower and get ready to go to HQ (Head Quarters). I was the last one to arrived at the briefing room and the entire economy crew were females.. I’ve nothing against working with all females, however is always nice to have one or two male crew. It balances the environment, plus sometimes working with a lot of girls brings drama… Fortunately I made a good friend with a Greek girl, Christina, and spent the entire 8 day trip with her. The rest divided and made their own group (indeed). Same way I did my last post of Singapore-Brisbane which I divided it, I’ll do the same way with this one. My first operational flight was this one as well and it’s in one of my first posts, however I visited some different landmarks which I will gladly share them with you. First stop is:

Bangkok

Since my first visit in Bangkok I did pretty much all sightseeing, this time I decided to visit 2 places, one was the Golden Buddha which I didn’t have time to visit the last I came to Bangkok. I expected something more, although is very amazing knowing that the Buddha is actually made of real gold from inside to outside. The landscape of the temple is beautiful, fulled of gold and bright colors. Problem is, it’s very crowded and it’s almost impossible to take pictures! Here is some:

Safari at Nairobi, Kenya

I’m 2 post behind. I’ve been flying a lot, however I will not stop posting my adventures. But you can always follow me on Instagram for daily posts.

Now, let’s begin with Nairobi shall we!

Not many crew likes African flights however..I do! I like Africa, it’s a different culture, food and people. The first and only thing we did was going for the safari. Unfortunately we did not see much of animals and I was disappointed, although I really enjoyed the trip with the crew. Was a lovely flight coming in and out. Passengers are very lovely and the people in Nairobi same as well. I did wanted to see wild animals..more exotics but it’s nature and it’s something that we humans can’t control indeed. They took us into the wild very early in the morning when the heat of the sun is not that intense and the animals are out searching for food. For my luck, maybe the animals decided to sleep-in or something, all I watched was zebras..and more zebras. Beautiful indeed, but where were the lions at least? Well, I think everything happens for a reason because this month roster I have Johannesburg! There I can finally go to the lion park, cuddle the cubs and die in peace haha! Enjoy my photos!
